Awareness Talk on POSH and POCSO Act Organized at GRIP
To commemorate International Women’s Day, Global Research Institute of Pharmacy (GRIP), Yamuna Nagar, through the Women Cell under the aegis of IQAC, organized an Awareness Talk on POSH and POCSO Acts to promote awareness regarding women’s safety and legal rights. The program was coordinated by Dr. Neha Yadav, Head of Department and Chairperson of the Women Cell.
The session was delivered by ASI Ms. Neelam from the Women Police Station, Yamunanagar, who explained the provisions of the POSH and POCSO Acts and emphasized that every child has the right to study and grow in a safe and respectful environment. She encouraged students to report any inappropriate behavior to trusted persons or teachers and highlighted the importance of awareness in building a safer society.
She also shared safety measures such as using the Police Helpline 112, the 112 mobile application, and the Trip Monitoring System, and informed students about cyber-crime awareness, advising them to focus on their careers and avoid unknown social media contacts.
Dr. Neha Yadav welcomed the guest speaker, and on this occasion Principal Dr. Ashwani Kumar addressed the students, highlighting the importance of women’s respect, equality, and empowerment in society.
